Taking a Roofing Firm to the Top of the SERPs

Back in February, 2023, a roofing services business was facing issues in getting rankings for their website, with only 1 keyword ranking in the top 3 positions. That meant that the organization was getting barely any traffic on its website. Although the home improvement niche is often considered one of the most difficult to rank for, when the brand approached us, we knew at once that it would be an amazing achievement.

We knew that the best way for the brand to rank better on the SERPs was through authentic backlinks that provided value. However, getting valuable backlinks would mean earning backlinks that trickled down authority while still boosting the brand’s traffic. 

However, as mentioned earlier home improvement is quite a competitive niche, which means that it’s imperative to have high-quality content in order to earn backlinks.

The Dilemma

Since Google has been consistently ensuring that only the websites with good content and perfect SEO come at the top of the SERPs, websites specifically in competitive niches have found it increasingly difficult to rank with multiple keywords. Fewer positions on the top ranks also mean that these affected websites also experience lower organic traffic. The initial audit revealed the areas of concern and improvement for our client. 

Thus, we knew that there were a few on-page and technical SEO changes, after which backlinks would bring significant results.

The Game Plan

While we knew that getting backlinks would bring positive results, we knew that it was merely part of the process, with the main mission being to garner better rankings. Moreover, our focus wasn’t just on branded keywords but also on making sure that our client’s website also started ranking better for other intent keywords. With an eagle eye on every possible SEO factor and improvement tactic, 

  • We began with a proper link audit, pointing out the key areas for the client. This meant that as we started outreaching for backlinks on behalf of our client, the website was already on the way to on-page optimization.
  • Next, we got down to compiling a list of websites that allowed guests in return for backlinks. As the client’s brand was working exclusively in the USA market, we had to secure rankings specifically for the country.
  • We also had to make sure that other than the anchor text, the client’s website was also experiencing improvements in multiple types of keywords. This meant that we were looking out for all types of keywords to ensure a maximum impact on average organic traffic. 
  • Seamlessly incorporating anchor text along with a sprinkle of keywords in each of our guestposts, we made sure that the website would see a spike for branded and non-branded keywords. Moreover, we also made sure to use intent-based keywords for maximum impact.

The Result

Thanks to our laser-focused strategy and consistent outreach efforts, securing a steady stream of backlinks became a breeze.

  • Although a plethora of updates came out between 2023 and 2024, along with the famed helpful content update, the client’s traffic kept climbing up steadily without facing any issues.
  • At the beginning of our first consultation, the website had a monthly organic traffic of just 42. By September 2024, the traffic was sitting at 294, which is a whopping increase of 600%!
  • The client experienced an increase in branded organic keywords by 566.67%
  • Non-Branded Organic Keywords increased by 588.24%
  • From only 1 organically ranking keyword at positions 1-3 initially, the number went up to 14, which is a 13,00% increase. The keywords at positions 4-10 went up from 7 to 31 (a 342.86% increase).
