We often hear the debate around the question of whether SEOs are marketers or not. A lot of people hold a slightly flawed concept that SEOs are not marketers since SEOs are more technical and are not directly involved in the sale or promotion of a brand’s product or service. In addition, the measurement of the impact of SEO can be tricky which gives room to such sort of myths. However, the truth is that SEO comes under the banner of digital marketing and therefore all SEOs should be treated as marketers.

SEO helps your content get in front of internet searchers. In comparison to paid advertisements, SEO is an organic channel of marketing since visitors come to your website by searching for it. 

SEO has been one of the oldest and most important weapons in the arsenal of all digital marketers. It has manifold advantages for your brand as it is a great way to attract organic traffic to your website. Moreover, SEO helps a brand boost its online presence. It helps your brand become authoritative and reliable in the digital sphere. Additionally, in comparison to paid ads, SEO helps companies reduce the cost of acquiring new customers. 

In conclusion, Even though SEO may not directly feel like marketing as it is technical and involves working from the backend. SEOs are also marketers as they fall in the field of Digital Marketing. While it is ok for marketers to be specialized in a particular field it is essential for them to understand the role of each sub-category of digital marketing in order to be a good marketer.
